Saturday night meanderings

Last night we did a little late-night exploring and just walked around Paris for about 3.5 hours. We saw the Eiffel Tower in it's full glittering beauty and L'Arc de Triomphe, large and luminous.
Then we strolled down the Champs Élysées, which was full of people shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Highlights include the multiple-story Louis Vuitton store with jaw-dropping window displays, and Laduree (a gorgeous pastisserie that makes desserts too beautiful to eat).

We picked up the metro and took photos outside Moulin Rouge, which was packed with annoying teenagers and looked too modern and tacky to really be exciting.
We kept walking from there and ended up at the gigantic and undeniably beautiful opera house. I would LOVE to go to an opera there! We joined a number of other couples who were sitting on the grand front steps, totally engrossed with each other and oblivious to everything else.

After that we headed home, saying "au revoir!" and "bon nuit!" to the Eiffel Tower as we passed by.
