We walked from our apartment to Le Panthèon, which was built between 1758 -1790 and houses Foucault's pendulum which really stuck it to everyone who was hating on science and modern philosophy at the time. It also holds his remains, Voltaire's (n.b.d.), Victor Hugo, Braille, you know, just a bunch of nobodies who never amounted to anything.
It had some pretty gorgeous murals of saints, since it served as a church intermittently until finally solidifying itself as a secular space (thnx).
The domes ceilings were absurdly high and gorgeous, but it was also colder than it was outside by at least 10 degrees F! Even the crypt was warmer.
But we had a great time all the same and here are some photos.
Then we had sandwiches we made in Jardin de Luxembourg. Not too shabby.
We had more adventures after, to be posted.
