Notre Dame

We visited Notre Dame today, which of course was awesome. Gothic architecture of such grandeur is a rare treat. The warm sun was shining through the massive multi-colored stained glass windows and it was truly beautiful.

We walked around for hours, stopping in two cafes throughout the day to refuel. We also finally made it to Shakespeare & Co, which was an absolute treasure trove. We made friends with two lovely people from the West Coast on a Parisian adventure of their own, who we had been implored to connect with by a mutual friend. We sat a cafe with them for quite some time, ruminating on life, art, the major cultural differences between Europe and the US, etc. It was a great time and I hope to visit them once we are all back in the States. On the walk home we enjoyed more breathtaking views of the city and it's epic landmarks beautifully lit.

Yay! Sunny and warm!

These brick arched ceilings were my favorite

Cofffffeeeeeeeee
This bookshop is AMAZING! It's tiny and completely packed floor to ceiling with books, mostly in English. It's got vintage chairs and cushions crammed in corners for reading and relaxing. It has antique to modern and just about every subject or topic. There is a tiny nook with a typewriter lit up by christmas lights, a piano amongst the stacks that anyone can play, and an open little area in the front of the 2nd floor with cushioned benches where you can read or chat with friends. Also, one of our new friends does carpentry work there and it looks great!
