I didn't wanna look a fool talking pictures of every attractive vegetable display or each fish's eye so these are the 2 pictures I took at the busy market today. Lots of great produce, got all the things we need though I do wish that the beets* here were available raw and not precooked!
* we looked it up last night - a custom originating from WWII wherein to save fuel and make buying beets more attractive, farmers precooked them for themselves and, importantly, housewives on a budget!
I should have gotten these olives. Thankfully we're going on Sunday also for fennel and blood oranges, or else I would be living a life of regret over the briny treats that got away.
