Venice

We went to Venice! For two nights and we packed in more windey street walking than even seemed possible. Caught some solid eyefulls of ancient arts and so much Murano glass.
Even a pretty small dirty espresso shack on the glass-craftsman island of Murano has three small gorgeous chandeliers in it. No joke.
We went to the Doge's Palace which was the seat of power for Venice and arguably a lot of Europe in the Middle ages and Renaissance as Venice was one of the earliest republics in Europe and a very successful trade center.
This held some florid rooms and the bridge of sighs and heaps of history.
The trip was serene and gorgeous and we even went to Tea Room, the vegetarian restaurant twice!
Inexpensive and incredibly wholesome.
I also want to mention our visit to Milan when we have Internet again.
Staying with our incredibly generous and talented friend Cecilia makes it seem crazy that we don't all live in te same place all the time. We can't wait to watch animation with her again. More on that soon....
